The Brunswick Agricultural Show has been a proud community tradition since 1932, with a brief pause during World War II. Held annually on the fourth Saturday in October, the Show continues to celebrate the region’s strong agricultural roots while offering entertainment for all ages.

The Show began in 1931, when a group of local farmers and residents came together to showcase their livestock, farm produce, and homemade goods. What started as a small community event has grown into one of Australia's largest one-day shows, attracting exhibitors and judges from across the country.

Originally, the Show occupied the area now known as Side Show Alley. Over the years, it expanded to cover the entire Brunswick Recreation Ground. Early exhibits were displayed in various buildings around the site and in the Brunswick Hall, before the construction of the Tom Pearson Pavilion. In those early days, exhibits would be packed away and the hall redecorated in time for the Show Ball that evening.

Today, the Showgrounds feature significant improvements, including the Tom Pearson Pavilion, the Recreation Centre, the Alan Evans Selling Complex, livestock yards and holding pens, the Ridley Poultry Pavilion, the Lions Animal Nursery, expanded food areas, and Peters Park — named in recognition of Peters’ Creameries’ support.
The Brunswick Agricultural Society is proud to support the local community, offering fundraising opportunities for local groups. The success of the Show is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of its volunteers, making it one of the biggest one-day events in the Harvey Shire.
